An exotic feature plant, the Dwarf banana has large smooth textured green leaves blotched with red, and bright yellow flowers in mid summer. It is a fast growing plant; after a few years it bears bunches of up to 90, slightly short, edible bananas. The plant requires rich, moist soil but must not become waterlogged. An excellent plant for growing in a large container which can be moved into a conservatory or greenhouse in winter. It must not be allowed to dry out at the root.
